WALTON THORNS FARM HOLIDAY COTTAGES

Our four star luxury self-catered cottages converted from farm barns have been designed to provide a relaxing environment for all our guests. Both cottages have picture windows looking out onto woodland and rolling fields and their own private patio with garden furniture to sit and watch wildlife on your doorstep.

All bedrooms are en-suite and kitchen areas have modern appliances and equipment. The cottages also offer oak dining furniture, comfy leather seating, flat screen Freeview TV and DVD player, books and games. The open plan living areas are a pleasure to relax in no matter what the weather brings.

THE OLD HAY BARN

The Old Hay Barn has magnificent views from the large picture windows and can accommodate up to 2 people. If has a vaulted ceiling with magnificent oak beams, traditional décor and is full of character with local stone slab window sills complementing the original arched brickwork.

The open plan living space with kitchen diner opens out onto the patio through the glazed arched door, ideal for breakfast with a view on a summer's morning.

The spacious bedroom with a luxurious king sized bed has a contemporary en-suite shower room. The bedroom window has views over the fields and a feature stone window sill which was part of the original flag stone floor of the barn.

The Old Hay Barn is ideally suited to couples wanting to get away from it all or those on business requiring peace and quiet. Our farm trail can be accessed from your own patio with miles of quiet walks around the farm. In the area there are lots of places to visit so look at our To See and Do page for a few ideas.

SHIRE COTTAGE

Shire Cottage is the larger of the two cottages and provides accommodation for up to 4 people.

The entrance hall leads to the spacious living/dining/kitchen area spanning the length of the cottage with full height windows. The view from the window provides an excellent backdrop for dining or watching TV.

The open plan layout gives a real feeling of space in this cottage. Comfortable seating and a large dining table allow you to relax over your meals or have a coffee in peace and quiet. The patio area is accessed from the living area by the glazed door and is in a private sheltered spot. The living room, hall and bathrooms all have tiled floors with rugs.

The twin bedroom is spacious with a large en-suite shower room and has contemporary décor.

The double bedroom has a luxurious king sized bed and en-suite bathroom. This room has a beautiful view across the fields which can be enjoyed from the comfort of your bed.

All the en-suites have heated towel rails and are very spacious. The bedroom furniture is all in solid wood in a contemporary cottage style. The bedrooms all have deep comfy carpets.

Shire Cottage is ideal for a family or friends who enjoy walking, cycling or golfing.We have bicycles available for hire or if you wish to bring your bikes please do as we have some nice quiet routes around here. Golfers are well provided for in the area so please view our To See and Do page.

All cottage bookings will receive a complimentary gift of chocolates, Melton Red Ale and Belvoir Fruit Juice.

BOOKINGS AND AVAILABILITY

Availabiilty is updated on our web calendar which can be accessed from the BOOKING ONLINE button ABOVE and cottages can be reserved. However if you prefer to telephone or e-mail for availability or to make an enquiry please do so we will be glad to help.

• Cottages are available for 7 nights or more or for short breaks( MINIMUM 2 NIGHTS) with flexible start days
• Cottages are available from 3.00pm on the day of arrival and are to be vacated by 10.30am on departure day
• Unfortunately we do not accept pets
• We welcome children over 10 years old (younger children by arrangement only)

• As we live on site there will always be someone to meet you on arrival, hand over keys and show you around
• There will be an information booklet in your cottage with appliance instructions and local information
• Maps of the site and car parking will be sent with confirmation details



The access to the cottages from the car parking is level and all the rooms in both cottages are on the ground floor. There are however two steps down to the patios from both cottages. We provide the following in each cottage:-

• Bed linen and 2 towels per person
• Hand wash, toilet rolls, dishwasher and washpowder
• Iron, ironing board and washer-dryer
• Welcome tea, coffee and milk

Guests can enjoy our Farm Trail which has several routes or can join the public footpath network and walk to local villages. The nearest is 3 miles away and all have pubs providing refreshments. We also have four cyles that we make avaiable to guests for a small hire charge. Information on local places to eat will be in your cottage information pack. We have an interesting classic and vintage tractor collection on the farm and we give guided tours for those who are interested.
