WALTON THORNS FARM HOLIDAY COTTAGES

Our three delightful four-star cottages, converted from farm barns have been designed to provide a relaxing environment for all our guests. With woodland and rolling fields on the doorstep and patios with garden furniture to sit and watch wildlife guests can appreciate the peace and quiet of the countryside.

Our farm trail can be accessed from each patio with miles of quiet walks around the farm. There are lots of places to visit and activities to take part in so please look at our To See and Do page for a few ideas.

THE OLD HAY BARN

The Old Hay Barn is a character cottage with magnificent views from the large picture windows and sleeps 2 people. It has a vaulted ceiling with huge oak beams and traditional decor. There are deep local stone window sills complimenting the original arched brickwork.

The open plan living space opens out onto the patio through the glazed arched door, ideal for breakfast with a view on a summer morning. The oak kitchen is well equipped with an electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher and washer-dryer. Deep armchairs, oak furniture, traditional tiled floor with rugs ensure a comfortable living room for guests to watch the TV and DVD player or watch the wild life that passes by the windows outside.

The spacious bedroom has a luxurious king size bed, deep comfy carpet and a contemporary en-suite shower room. The bedroom has views over the fields.

The Old Hay Barn is ideally suited to couples wanting to get away from it all or those on business requiring peace and quiet.

SHIRE COTTAGE

Shire Cottage can sleep up to 4 people. There are two en-suite bedrooms and spacious living areas.

The entrance hall leads to the spacious living/dining/kitchen area spanning the length of the cottage with full height windows allowing great views across the fields. The oak kitchen is well equipped with an electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher and washer-dryer.

The open plan layout gives a real feeling of space in this cottage. There is comfortable leather seating and a large dining table. The cottage's patio area is accessed from the living area by the glazed door and is in a sheltered spot. The living area, hall and bathrooms all have tiled floors with rugs.

The twin bedroom has oak furniture, a deep comfy carpet and contemporary decor. There is a large en-suite shower room.

The double bedroom has a luxurious king sized bed and en-suite bathroom. This room has a beautiful view across the fields which can be enjoyed from the comfort of your bed.

Shire Cottage is ideal for a families, couples or friends who enjoy walking, cycling or golf. Golfers are well provided for in the area, please view our To See and Do page.

DAIRY COTTAGE

Dairy Cottage can sleep up to 5 people and is ideal for families or those requiring 2 bedrooms/4 beds. The cottage is extremely spacious and is tastefully decorated throughout.

The comfortable living area has leather settees and light wood furniture. There is a freeview TV and DVD player. The large living room opens onto the spacious hallway via double glazed doors. The kitchen/dining room adjoins the living room through an archway.

The kitchen is large and bright. The kitchen is well appointed with an electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher and washer-dryer. There is a lovely view from the window to the fields and woods beyond. The dining table is great for family meals and there's lots of cupboard space for storage and shopping.

There are two super bedrooms in Dairy Cottage. The larger family room has both a double and a single bed and enjoys a lovely large picture window overlooking the courtyard.

The twin room is bright and spacious with deep comfy beds. There are tiled floors and rugs in all bedrooms and the living room.

The lovely entrance hall to the cottage can also be used as a sun lounge on summer evenings as the sun streams in.

There is a large contemporary shower room with wc and powerful electric shower and a further separate washroom, each having a shaver point. Both are accessed from the hallway.

AVAILABILITY

Availability is updated on our web calendar which can be accessed from the BOOK ONLINE button below and cottages can be booked online. However if you prefer to telephone or e-mail for availability or to make an enquiry please do so, we will be glad to help.

Cottage Information

• Cottages are available from 2 nights with flexible start days. Please contact Liz for any enquiries.
• Cottages are available from 3.00pm on the day of arrival and are to be vacated by 10.30am on departure day.
• Unfortunately we do not accept pets.
• We welcome children but please let us know ages. We can provide a travel cot(please bring your own bedding ) and a high chair. Please request at time of booking..
• You will find directions to Walton Thorns Farm on our find us page.
• As we live on site there will always be someone to meet you on arrival, hand over keys and show you around.
• There will be an information booklet in your cottage with appliance instructions and local information.
• Location maps will be sent with confirmation details.



Access to the cottages from the car parking is level and all the rooms in the cottages are on the ground floor. There are however two steps down to the patios from Shire Cottage and The Old Hay Barn. We provide the following in each cottage:-

• Bed linen and 2 towels per person
• Heating and electricity
• Iron, ironing board and washer-dryer
• Freeview TV and DVD player
• Welcome tea, coffee and milk
• Welcome gift of local Melton Red Ale, Elderflower cordial and chocolates

Guests can enjoy our Farm Trail which has several routes or can join the public footpath network and walk to local villages. The nearest is 3 miles away and all have pubs providing refreshments. Information on local places to eat will be in your cottage information pack.

We have an interesting classic and vintage tractor collection on the farm and we give guided tours upon request for those who are interested.
